After their daughter experienced bullying and mental health issues throughout school, the owners of the national EdTech company Twotrees Technologies were inspired to create a platform to optimize the process of handling bullying incidents with technology.

In late 2017, James teamed up with Staci, who has a background in Speech Pathology and Communication Development, to create a solution that served the entire school. Informed by the unique needs of every different kind of user, from students to school administrators. We are focused on giving students the support they need to succeed after high school while, keeping the incident management system low-cost and easy to implement.

So any organization can become a FightSong! organization.

The FightSong! Platform is about more than just reporting, it is to change the process of handling incidents overall. We want to provide students a safety net of resources so no one ‘slips through the cracks’. Most student conflicts have social-emotional stressors before any violence occurs. Reaching a student during this time, and teaching them how to handle the situation appropriately and learn de-escalation techniques is very effective at reducing incidents.

With standard incident reporting methods students do not feel emotionally supported, by changing the feedback students receive we can encourage Self-Advocacy and Standing Up. Then students will be more likely to seek help instead of lashing out and causing incidents.

  • FightSong connects students with school counselors through our reporting apps. By using messaging features students already use every day, they are empowered to advocate for the mental health and physical safety of themselves and others.


Unlike “Anonymous” reporting apps and tip lines, we use secure confidential communications that only works with mobile devices which can be traced in an emergency, eliminates false reporting and threats but allows for identity to be more protected to give confidence for users to use without fear.

In addition, we offer integrated media campaigns, an online community and an evidence-based anti-bullying curriculum to ensure successful student onboarding to the program. By communicating the value of reporting earnestly with students and providing them a simple way to report, we help them to seek the help they need.

However, FightSong! Works by offering students a program and community to help them develop resiliency and a self-regulating creative and constructive approach to adversity. All of this comes together to help FightSong drive more effective and efficient school counselor interactions, improving outcomes for all members of the school community.
